Facing Your Shadow Self
We are all fragments of God, incarnating into individual bodies to learn about ourself (Not a typo. We are all one part of the divine whole). The Stellar and Celestial bodies are also fragments of the Divine, each with their own consciousness and area(s) of exploration. We select the conditions that will be of highest service to the self and to the collective, including what areas of life (themes) that we will explore.
When we incarnate, we forget our knowledge, memories, past lives, divine nature, and everything else, so that we may experience life through a brand-new perspective, which is essential for learning. Those in higher densities (read lighter densities) love to help us, as we provide a highly valued service to them by working with these heavier and more challenging energies. Those who are older or who are experts in something often have a harder time taking in new information or solving long-battled problems. Have you ever heard of the phrase “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks?” It often requires a freshman who brings a new perspective and a different way of looking at things to offer a solution that had not been considered before. It isn’t that older people can’t learn, but if they keep repeating the same lesson over and over, continuously attracting the same event, type of person, or circumstances, then likely they are too close to the issue and would benefit from a fresh perspective. In this way, the universe is always growing and expanding, which is the whole point!
The Earth exists in a fractal of God that works with duality. Duality is a feature of the third density (referred to as dimension by us, but more accurately as density by the Pleiadians as all things are energy at their essence) in which there are Divine counterparts: Good - Bad, Right - Wrong, Up - Down, Male - Female, Hero - Villain, etc. In reality, energy exists on a spectrum, which Humans are learning more about all the time. We already know that there is a spectrum of light, sound, gravity, density, autism, and are even opening up to the idea that gender identity exists on a spectrum. Some people have struggled with getting past the physical anatomy, but as we progress further into spirituality (and transition into the fifth density), we gain higher understanding about energy, the spiritual versus the material (an age old philosophical debate! Look into Soccrates, Plato, and Aristotle and their ideas about Idealism versus Materialism) and the smoke and mirrors that create our “tangible” reality - whatever that means.
In this perspective, there is a God, a Devil, and a you. There are the two divine counterparts and the observer, who interacts with the light and the dark, consciously or unconsciously. Have you ever gone for a walk on a beautiful sunny day, noticed your shadow on the ground, then thought deeply about what it was and why our physics work like that? I have and those lines of thinking were both interesting and headache inducing. Have you ever considered that if we have a shadow, then we must also have whatever is opposite of that? Non-spiritual people may not know the word for it, but I am referring to the higher self.
Modern society tends to be a bit hedonistic. That is to say that most people tend toward doing what feels good or appears good rather than bad. That is valid and there isn’t anything wrong with that, however, that is limiting and only explores one facet of life. To get to wholeness and truth, we must consider all perspectives and all parts of life. In our psyche, there are things that are fun, but there are also things that are painful. Both are valid and both are necessary for living a full life and learning about ourself (again, not a typo).
I just failed one of my classes this past semester. This is not shocking, as I have always struggled in school. From elementary school to high school, I failed class after class. Some of my teachers called me lazy and stupid. Actually I am quite bright and test well. I just don’t always do homework like I’m expected to. When I can get myself motivated and focused, I am exemplary at completing assignments and projects.
Instead of doing what feels good, I need to force myself to sit still and work on the task in front of me. When I do that successfully, then I do quite well. It isn’t even that I am distracted by one specific thing. I will watch videos on my phone, read a book, daydream, go for a walk, even clean the apartment, anything except the homework in front of me. It would be comical if it weren’t so frustrating. I don’t know if this is a self-sabotage thing or a past life trauma thing, but whatever it is is a part of my energy and is an aspect of my shadow self.
Once you are aware of your lower aspects, then you can address them. Your shadow self is not a negative thing, it is actually a positive thing, because it is meant to help you. These lower aspects are meant to be brought to light to help you learn and grow. My struggle with homework, teachers, and parents is very much a saturn and capricorn type of energy that is meant to help me learn to be more responsible and strong. And when I keep these things in mind, I am better able to be on top of things instead of feeling useless or like there’s something wrong with me. Your lower aspects will appear in your life whether you bring them to consciousness or not, so it’s better to deal with them in a healthy way where you face them with courage and compassion.
The higher self tends to receive more attention, as it is what we aspire to be and is the focus of our self improvement. This makes sense, but the universe requires balance and how can you move forward without healing from the past? Truly, the only time that exists is the present and if you are worried about the future or agonizing over the past, then you are missing out on the present. We are best served when we use the past to learn and heal in the present and work joyfully in the present to manifest a wonderful future. The shadow self can be of great assistance to us when we work with it, sending it love and compassion, so that our challenging aspects and baggage do not overwhelm us and keep us stuck. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses which are represented by the higher and lower selves respectively.
I should not allow my past failures to prevent me from trying to succeed in all of my future opportunities. Your failures always present you with opportunities to learn and succeed. So, don’t give up - fail up. Life is about failing and getting it wrong just as it is about succeeding and getting it right. Integrate your lower self and its aspects as well as your higher self into your daily practice and life philosophy and see what happens. At the very least, you will likely have more compassion for yourself, think more positively, and feel more at peace - which is life changing in and of itself.
As always, I offer this to the collective for the highest good of all.
Peace and blessings my Spirit friends,
Beau
